ELECTRICAL VALUES
INTENSITY
The current intensity is the amount of electricity or electric charge flowing in a circuit per the time unit. To name the current intensity letter I is used and its measuring unit is the ampere(A).
ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE
Electrical resistance is the opposition that a material offers to the flow of electrons; that is, the flow of electric current. Resistance is symbolized by the letter R and its value is expressed in ohms(Ω). The higher this value is, the more difficult it is for the current to flow.
VOLTAGE
If two points in a circuit have different amounts of electrons, they are said to have a different electrical charge, or different amounts of electric potential=voltage. When two points have different electrical charges and while this difference exits, we say that there is voltage between them. Letter V is used for voltage and its value is measured in volts(V).
As we all know, by using batteries they gradually lose their properties until they are "discharged". To get rid of them must resort to a suitable container or the store where we bought them, as some of them have polluting substances and we should not throw then together with normal trash.
There are also rechargeable batteries or car batteries that can be used again, once you've recharged them with a suitable charger.
POTENCIA
It is the energy consumed or produced by an electrical element. Its symbol is P and it is measured in watts (W). This energy is easily calculated since it is the product of the power difference, in the ends of such element, by the current intensity flowing through it.
POWER = INTENSITY * VOLTAGE
The greater the power of a device, more energy will be consumed during the time it is connected, although, of course, also the amount of light provided, the heat or the speed and strength of the movement of a motor will also be larger.
